maricultured acropora

Do any one know which is the acropora species to go? My LFS is selling maricultured colonies for $75 a piece!

It wont be the first maricultured colony I got, just wondering what is the "mainstream" with possibilities of discovering a gem or two

examples would be acropora tenius and acropora microclados

Just get whatever looks good to you, tenuis is always hot at the moment, but from what I hear, a lot of what is coming in looks great, so it’s not difficult to choose what looks good.

Get some tenuis and see what colors you can pull out of them.

I agree, definitely getting tenuis, but like what about others? I got one that look like thick branch millepora, but then geez. those feeding tentacle/polyp totally ruined the piece

Personally, I like tenius. Just because I enjoy a lot of movement in my tank and the fluffy tenius polyps provide that. I like any acros with deep cups and fluffy polyps

. Get whatever speaks to you but if you’re looking to make a profit tenius is probably the way to go

nope, not in it for profit! $75 for a big piece to fill up tank is way more tempting than a 1inch growout frag lol

The tenuis and microlados go for big money. You might find a gem that slipped through to the regular bin. Try your best on ID before you part with money.
