Around a month ago my lfs got in a bunch of maricultured colonies in and for 40$ a piece I decided to buy 4 of them. Fast forward a month and 3 of them are thriving and 1 is suffering from stn, so I dipped it again and fragged the good pieces, it's been a week and the frags seem to be hanging in there. This was the first time I bought maricultured colonies I usually just get small frags and grow them out but for the price and size I figured what the heck. After reading many things about maricultured colonies and the success rate I'm trying to figure out if batting .750 is the norm, although if the pieces I fragged off the colony with stn survive I would be pleased. A couple of them have small Acro crabs in them that seem to just be living in them and causing no damage, should I get the crabs out of them or are they part of a symbiotic relationship with the acro?

So long as they are good acro crabs and not bad ones you're fine. As for your coral, maricultured and wild can last for months or even a year before inexplicably dying. It's a numbers game and with only 4 you can't really draw a conclusion just yet. But keep at it and keep your system stable and hopefully it turns out great!

There not eating the corals, they have long skinny claws not big burly ones. Guess i might as well do research on good and bad acro crabs. They dont leave the coral cuz they will get munched. Once i noticed them i started squirting some fish food in there.
