Woot I am there! Let me know what I can do to help!

It doesn't look like the family and I will not be going to next year Macna. Is the Marine Aquarium Expo any different than MACNA? This is the first time I hear about it.

With an average of 2,000+ visitors, MAX is the largest-attended aquarium event in North America.
Though we have many simularities, we are also quite different from the MACNA event on several counts.

The Marine Aquarium Expo encourages participation from a much broader audience. One of our main goals is to introduce, entrigue, and nurture in the new generation of aquarium hobbyists. We do this by exposing children and young teens to a giant 8-foot "Touch Tank" where they can literally pick-up and inspect starfish, hermit crabs, snails, brittlestars, and other relatively hardy species of marine life. The looks on their faces are priceless to those fortuntate enough to witness such epiphanies, either in real time or via some of the many photographs we've posted on the MAX website. MAX's PhotoGallery

We also create a very family-friendly atmosphere around the "MAX FinZone". The FinZone has entertainment, games, and other activities that will keep the kids busy. Additions such as a fantasy characters, face-painting, Doodle Art (who's old enough to remember Doodle Art? LOL) and other adventurous activities. We not only walk the talk but also put our money where our mouth is......ALL children age 12 years and under are admitted absolutely FREE!

Special Note:
Do not perceive the MAX show as being a "children's event", we are merely showing one component of the event that some people may not realize exists.

....and as for the grown-ups, we introduce you to the best of the best in our industry, both commercial and non-profit. We fully encourage direct sales and trade of livestock and drygoods, since that seems to be what hobbyists want most. We also provide the perfect venue for showcasing of new products, so many manufacturers actual time the release of their newest addtions to coincide with the Marine Aquarium Expo.

Most of all, some of these products actually end up in our grand MAX Opportunity Drawing where literally tens-of-thousands of dollars worth of products are raffled off to lucky winners. The Grand MAX Opportunity Drawing is one of the most popular activities for some attendees. There is a drawing at the end of both days, each with a grand prize offered.

For the big shoppers out there, we have the LARGEST swap meet in California only a few hundred feet South of our entrance. This should keep even the most finicky spouse busy for the better part of an entire day, JUST in case they are not as dedicated to the fish hobby as we are. : ) TONS of food, beverages, and snacks are also available from multiple vendors around our the show, as well as multiple tables set strategically around the MAX show to let you get off your feet for awhile. Take in one of the scheduled speakers and/or workshops that we've scheduled thoughout the day....the point is, we want to keep you here all day, or better yet, get you to come BOTH days and enjoy the many benefits the Marine Aquarium Expo has to offer!

And if your idea of coming to Southern California means taking a mini vacation, well, we've got that covered too!

Hi Guys,

So Who is READY FOR MAX???
We will have two ATM machines installed inside the building for your convenience as well as a couple of food/drink vendors and some seating areas for your comfort. Our raffles are incredibly large so something you will definitely want to stick around for that last hour of 5 to 6 PM.

The Marine Aquarium Expo is for entire families to enjoy, or for those hobbyists who can appreciate a quality atmosphere instead of the usual clique of elitists and followers. Come and enjoy yourself without ever worrying about your status and/or level of experience. We are the largest aquarium event organizers in the world with now FOUR different shows under our belt, so I hope we are compentent enough to make your experience an enjoyable one. "We do what we do for people like you!"

Hikari will once again be sponsoring the MAX swag bag program, so every paying adult will be handed a FREE bag of swag products as they enter the Marine Aquarium Expo. You will also be handed a FREE May Issue of Tropical Fish Hobbyist Magazine (MAX 2-page centerfold spread inside), not to mention the myriad of other goodies given away by our generous manufacturers. (hint) stop to chat with some of the exhibiting reps and see if they don't have a sample or two to share with you for being so inquisitive. ; )

Experience the MAX show this April with friends and family.
Also don't forget that the largest swap meet in California is a mere few hundred feet away from our front doors, so if your significant other wants to shop all day while you are at MAX, let them! We want you to stay and win a great raffle prize or two from our pool of generously donated products.
STAY to PLAY and WIN!

Welcome, my friends, Welcome to MAX 2011!

WOW. Never new an event for this hobby existed. The pirate, the mermaid, and the kids touching the fishes pictures got my two kids wanted to go (kids are free!! YES!!). The website got my wife interested in it. Being new to this hobby, hoping to learn alot from this event. Thank you for the info:bigsmile:

Some of you may not have noticed that we made front page news with the Orange County Register the day after MAX ended. A reporter was scanning the room most of Sunday taking photographs and interviewing people throughout the day and then wrote a really nice article about the show for Monday's paper. Here is a link to their website version with many great photographs:
http://www.ocregister.com/news/aquar...vent-baby.html

Mark Callahan of MrSaltWaterTank.com also created a really nice video of MAX, as can be seen here on YouTube:
YouTube - Mr. Saltwater Tank's Coverage of Marine Aquarium Expo (MAX)

Also look for a short story about MAX in the next edition of Tropical Fish Hobbyist Magazine!
The word is getting out and we will soon be growing even larger with changes in 2012....stay tuned!
