Marine Betta died - red sore

Hi All

I purchased a marine betta on Friday and unfortunately he passed away last night from what I assume is this red sore it developed over the weekend. Any idea what this is? I am attaching a picture.

It looks like a wound - likely a bacterial infection - developed in transport? Marine bettas are hard . I might talk to the place you bought it from. ? sorry to hear

Thanks - that's kind of what I was thinking. All of the other fish seem fine.
