Marine Betta, Peaceful...Or Not.

They are very reclusive. You hardly ever see them in a reef. Especially larger ones like mine. Come out evening and night

My larger marine betta (I hate the name so much that for the first time in my life I named a fish) is about 5".

Use it's alternate name, the Comet. Much better name in all respects.

I have one in my tank, he’s always hidden in the day and come out at night. I got him for 70 bucks a year ago and he was maybe 2 inches. Since then I’ve yet to see him feed on any of my food lol. And he’s fat to high hills, what i do know is this
1) he eats all the baby turbo smalls in the tank I’ve seen him do it
2) he’s extremely peaceful and as of 2021 about 4-5 inches and fat

I would highly doubt a betta would attempt to eat an urchin. If something did eat it then you can expect to find pieces all over the tank. There are relatively few fish that are capable of eating one but triggerfish do.

And triggers. Many triggers find urchins delicious. Blow them upside down with a blast of water, and then munch on the soft parts underneath! Yummy!
