Marine Betta

That's pathetic.... Another reason to boycott Diver's Den.....

Sad :(

Yeah, after this I'm done with them.
They really went downhill fast since Petco's dissolution of Drs. Foster & Smith in 2019. And them being spun off as independent company didn't improve things either.

Awesome. I doubt any will be available to me in Canada, but I am still very glad to see captive bred marine bettas. In my year of reefing, I have seen six or seven in stores, and only two have been healthy. Keep up the good work.

Biota ultimately intends to distribute them internationally once I can breed enough. I'm still in the ramp-up phase and trying to get more pairs. So far I have 3 pairs, but I will need at least twice as many to get a reliable supply of larvae. But by now I have juveniles of all 3 pairs and therefore will be able to make unrelated F1 generation pairs. But those will take a few years before I can expect any eggs from them...
I also have 4 singles:
- a large female, collection region unknown
- 2 medium-sized individuals from Australia that may be male and female or two females. So far they still fight when I put them together.
- a large specimen from the Philippines that may be a male, but it's too early to tell, I just goth that fish a week ago and it only now started to eat well enough.

And I still need to find a partner for my single C. argus... and ideally at least another pair. That is a species even more in need of being bred.

Of the first hatch 55 went to Biota.

Prepackaged for bagging at my local fish store:

Well well, I got 2 beauties from Thomas today. I have to say that they are perfect little Beta's at 1 and 1+ inch. I cannot be any happier with the two I got. Here are a few pictures of them as I drip them into my QT tank.
They are only about 1 inch, I don't want them end up as Tusk food so I put them into my QT system.
