I'm looking for some opinions on the Marine Magic Dosing Pumps. I'm considering getting one but have not heard anything about them. Any users out there than can share experiences?

I've been looking at these also. There is a big right up on reef central with pretty good reviews.

I saw that. Thanks.

OT...Supra 97 is either a Toyota Supra or a Supra Ski Boat....I'm curious.....

I'm working on a 5 pump DIY set-up, (well, I will be when the pumps get here from China). I plan to do a complete write up on "how to" as I do. The DIY should come in for about or less than half the price. I will be able to fire any pump head at any time of day, or several times a day, for from .1 to 30 seconds each time, accurately. The dosing sequence will be initiated by $4.00 clock movement timers from Wallyworld. This way they kick back in and keep on ticking after a power outage is restored. The pumps are then driven by one-shot timers that control how long they pump. There will be no computer programs to get tangled up in nor to fail when power goes down. No charts, no graphs, no bells and whistles, just reliability. This DIY run will be for as many or as few pump heads your little heart desires.

It will be easy enough for an average gal or guy, who can solder and has a basic knowledge of electricity.

Interested to see this come together. Are going to start a build thread?

OT.....Supra.....no thanks....I was just curious.

Yes I promise to do a build thread. I am STILL waiting on my pumps and just ordered a set of interval timers that are less expensive than the high end ones I have. I will use the less expensive ones so that the build is easier for the average Jack or Jill to do. The interval timer I was going to use would be about $37 per head, these ones I will use now are only about $15 per head. However, I must now wait for those too to arrive. I already have the build thread started and it is at: never mind -> see edit

EDIT:
OK when I get all the parts I will start a new post and call it something like DIY doser build. It will contain all needed information and instructions. I will post the thread after I have the project done and use progressive pics so I can put together a comprehensive set of instructions (knowing that it worked already). You have my word.

Very cool. Looking forward to it.

The timers will be here tomorrow, 2/14/13. But, I have no idea about the pumps. The tracker from Hong Kong Post says they left Hong Kong... ??? on 2/9/13. So, we wait. I HOPE to work on the build this weekend (2/15-17/13). If so I should be able to post the "step by step" a few days after that.
