Hey so I wanted to set up a marine planted aquarium and i am very excited for this aquarium but I got a couple of questions
Do i need a protein skimmer ?
I have heard that macro algae can take care of excess nutrients as well as nitrates and phosphates so would a skimmer benefit the aquarium or will the macro algae do the job
Do i need to add fertilizers ?
I know people add liquid fertilizers like flourish excel to their freshwater planted aquarium but I have never heard somebody adding fertilizers to a aquarium with macro algae
Water changes frequency ?
If my live nitrifying bacteria convert ammonia and nitrite into nitrates and phosphates and then those nitrates and phosphates as well as the excess nutrients are used by the algae the only reason I would do water changes would be to replenish the good trace elements right ?
