Marine pure balls

I've heard the Marine pure balls leech aluminum. If so Is aluminum toxic to LPS corals
I'm asking because most of my lps have died and I'm trying to find the reason.
I Don't trust this ICP test.

Coral biology is complex and I’m not sure if there is any info on the effects of aluminum on different corals. I’ll look for a study Realy quick.

I found a study that shows that at a ph of 7 and a concentration of .4ppm is leathal to most marine organisms after 4 days. Some organisms like Ctenodrilus serratus only need .1ppm to be a leathal dose. So at .068 it is possible it fluctuated to .1 causing ill effects or deth. And even if .068 Is the current amount it may still be causing problems to sensitive corals.

What part of the ICP test makes you not trust it?

I have found the balls to leech far less than the blocks. If the test is good the arsenic could be a problem .
GFO should pull out aluminum easily but at 60 gallons a few 20ish gallon water changes would also be effective.

I'm not sure. I'm gonna try ATI ICP Test because it's set up for this hobby.

IME elevated aluminum will only affect leather corals. Too many anecdotal evidence of marinpure products and successful reef tanks.

There were a lot of rumours about this flying around for years, but if you look on their web site there is a detailed research article on the situation to disprove this.

I have a marine pure block amongst other media and have no aluminium issues.
