Marine pure for QT

Hey now. Can I just throw a block of marine pure in the quarantine tank and call it a day? If I can, is it possible to get away with using the 1” thick plate or does it have to be the 4” block

Sure. Could be a bad day.
For anyone to be able to answer this question we need to know:
If the block is cycled?
How big a qt tank?
How many fish?
How long in qt?

it’s just a 20gal standard tank with zero fish in it. I have one saltwater tank I’m building right now so I’m gonna convert it to a saltwater QT.

in a few weeks once it is cycled Id let it run and once my tank is done I’d add one species at a time. It’s a 40g breeder DT. I can’t see their being more than 2-3 smaller fish at a time.

If the block is cycled and has enough bacteria to process the ammonia you should be ok. I would use a thicker block and monitor ammonia. It would be a good idea to plan on a few water changes to get the left over suff out of the tank.
