Hey everyone. I was cleaning out the back of my waterbox cube 20 tonight and found a ton of what looks like Marine Pure chunks. Its all over my return pump in chamber 3 and I have 2 bags of the Marine pure balls in chamber 2. So two questions, is this what I think it is? And if so, what should I do? Pull out the marine pure all together, slowly, is it needed? Thanks in advance!

I’ve been dosing kalk for about 3 months now. Just regular kalk not slurry or anything fancy. Is there any worry if it’s mulm? My pump was running fine until I stopped it and then it wouldn’t start back up until I cleaned.

I run a lot of MarinePure in my sump (blocks, spheres, etc.) While it does occasionally chip and crumble, what breaks off has the consistency of coarse sand. It tends to sink right away and remains on the bottom unless it's really stirred up. None of my pumps will suck it up unless I literally place the intake overtop of it. I've never had it stick to anything to be honest - even with dosing occuring in the preceding chamber.

I'd gently remove the media to inspect it. If there's a lot of deterioration it will be present in your media container and visible on the media itself.

It looks like what's all over the pump and sump chamber could be a combination of things (including remnant bio media).
