Hi all,

Just a question about marine velvet. Recently I lost a bannerfish and blenny due to a marine velvet breakout. So I moved my pair of clowns, royal gramma, blue tang and yellow tang into it (has been 3 days now). I plan to medicate my fish for 14-30 days using Multi Cure, and then keep them in quarantine for 60-90 days to dry out the parasites from the main tank.

However, my cleaner shrimp and other inverts are still in my main tank. So the question is, can velvet use the inverts and corals as host as well? I always thought ich and velvet can only live off fish, but am I wrong here? It would be great if someone could point me to the right direction.

Thanks for reading!

Multi Cure probably won’t get the job done on the fish though.
Let’s ask the pro.
@Humblefish what do you know about Multi Cure?

Based on the listed active ingredients, it is a mild antiparasitic + antibacterial med. Probably meant to be used as a bath before treating in QT with copper, metro, antibiotics.
