I thought I'd share a story with you all on why you should quarantine fish before you add them to your aquarium. I have a 60gl tank that had been running for 2 months and I decided to get some new fish and I'm not sure how the parasite got in but suddenly I only had three fish left. I was able to catch the domino 4 days ago. Yesterday morning I caught the blue damsel that was in there. I fresh water dipped him and put him in the hospital tank but that didn't turn out so well ;Dead. The clown had been on to me as soon as I had the domino taken out of the water. She was teasing me by coming really close to the net and then swimming off and was really starting to frustrating me all of yesterday had been trying to catch her I even set up a trap and she didn't fall for it so I set up another finally it came down to removing the rocks and calling in another person to help while the other person played defence I played offense and we were finally able to catch her we didn't fresh water dip her like the others for two reasons one she didn't look as bad as the others and two it didn't turn out so well for the blue damsel and we were able to safely get her into the hospital tank.
So far so good.

Sorry about the problems.

Did you add new fish to your display or the existing fish died before?
Have you noticed any spots or anything on the fish to conclude it was velvet?

Im still dealing with ich in my tank... 12 fish none of them ever catch oddly.. but my royal gramma does.. he gets it.. then he bangs it off in the morning with lights on and is fine during the day thrn it repeats.. i feel sorry for him but he seems to be getting more immune to it as time goes by.. i cant explain why my 11 other fish never get it.

I have lost any tang or angelfish ive put in the tank so i sadly never buy them anymore.

And tbh im not tearing apart my entire tank to catch fish to dose for 30 days with a poison like copper that i read can kill fish in a year or so anyway.. then wait 72 days with an empty display tank.

And since its a 60g hexagon 12 fish fills it up just fine so ill stick with the ones i got.. there are certain fidh i noticed that dont catch ich as my moms tank has it too... Damselfish never catch it.. i bought 4 for her they never got it but her coral beauty did.. same with bangai cardinals.. never catch it.. blenny fish like lawnmower snd scooter blenny never get it.. and my flamehask never gets it either

Yesterday I noticed the maroon clown had one bigger eye than the other not sure what this is but I think it is bad. Also they both have some fungus so I cleaned the tank.
