Marineland 300g DD reliability?

Recently pick up a Marineland 300g DD
72x36x26 starfire front. After doing some plumping research I find that this tank doesn't have a good reputation. I was wondering if it just something that was built back in 2010-2012 time? Ever since that period was there any improvement made? My tank is build in 2016. Could I please get some feedback?


Previously the tank was setup with durso plumping style. Should I keep the durso plumping style or should I go with the new style plumping similar to the Red Sea reefer series?

I bought mine back in 2009 and sold it almost 2 years ago. The tank was well built, I sold it only because I wanted to downsize. I used the factory overflows and standard plumbing. I did use two external pumps. One for each return. I ran a panworld 50pxx on one side 24/7. The other side I ran a 40px 12 hours during the day. At 10 pm when the 40px turned off the tank became very quiet which was nice since it was in my living room
