Hello everyone, it has been over a year since I have really been active on here. Bought a foreclosed house last April which took a lot of my money and time and my son was born last July which took the rest of my time and money lol.

I have decided to set up a pico tank on my desk at work and I think I am going with a Marineland Contour 3 tank. I will be upgrading the light to an A80 Tuna Blue Nano by Kessil. I don't plan on upgrading the pump unless it dies.

My question at this point is: if I have 1" of live sand and 3-5 lbs of live rock in the display, what should I put in the back chamber? I was thinking just filter floss and maybe chaeto or live rock rubble.

For livestock I was thinking:

Yellow clown goby
Dwarf feather duster
Taro Tree Coral
Maybe a small rock of some sort of polyp or the green grass looking coral who's name escapes me
And last but not least the smallest CUC package from reefcleaners.

I will more than likely start a build thread once I start. Thanks in advance for the help and ideas.

Edit: Change of plans! The height of the Marineland Contour 5 without the stand is 14" so I will be going with that one. Woo 2 extra gallons lol

I have the 5g. The chamber is narrow. Rubble rocks will work. I used to have one stalk of Mangrove.
I have media sponge in there now.

GSP that's it! Thanks.

That's what I figured, does the water flow into the chamber from the top? I saw on another forum someone mentioned the intake was on the bottom which made no sense to me.

Rubble in the back chamber might be the easiest. That or filter floss. Adding cheato will add a whole new thing you have to worry about.
