Marineland Portrait Pump Upgrade?

I’m looking for a more powerful pump for my Marineland portrait 5 gal pico tank. I’ve tried some of the random Amazon pumps and they seem to be about as powerful as the stock pump. My intention is to increase flow in the tank without adding a power head. It’s been stocked with softies for about 9 months with no issue, but I want to see a bit more movement.

Has anyone upgraded their Marineland Portrait pump?
If so, what did you go with?

Have you tried sicce pumps? I would imagine the micra would fit

I haven’t tried the sicce yet. I was actually just looking at the dimensions of that pump earlier. I’ll have to measure the back compartment of the tank when I get home.

Yea I’m not sure of the fit, I’ve never had one of those but it’s tiny and powerful for its size

Not as of yet. I’m thinking the Newa MN606 will fit, but I just set up a 65 in my living room so I’ve been focusing on that. I do plan to try this pump out on my next BRS order. I’ll post an update when I do.

I did just put a kessil a80 on this little tank, and I like it so far. The goose neck is a little stiff, but I managed to situate the light in a way that I’m happy with.
