Marineland Warning

Wow - I hate to hear that you had to deal with that! Were you able to save your livestock? Was the tank covered under warranty?

They wouldn't cover anything because I bought it person to person but as you

can see it was new when I got it so I wanted to let people know. I lost two fish, took three fish to the pet store. Saved all my corals and a handful of fish.

I think marineland issued a recall on some tanks.

That really sucks...I had a Marineland 300gl DD until two years ago, and I believe that was one of this year's recalls. I don't think it affected the year mine was, but it certainly weirded me out to hear it. Hope it wasn't enough to scare you out of the hobby. It usually doesn't go like that.

TOO many of these tank failures over the last 2 years !!

That sucks man , i have a DD300 and mine was made in July of 2018 , my buddy is on his 3rd of this tank and im hoping and praying every day that mine holds up ! sorry to hear

Idk about shotty work, my tank looks awesome, build quality looks good. Theres just this issue that happens to some tanks. Idk what the percentage is, but I'd have to guess that the vast majority of them do not fail...

Your tank is not on the recall list. It was newer models July, Aug, Sept of 2019 build dates affected.

Just wanted to let the community know that my Marineland 93g Cube split at the seams within 9 months of ownership. Buyer beware!

That sucks! Hopefully you can get a tank up and going soon.

Why are you bashing marineland? You bought the tank used, could have been the previous owner that may have contributed to the failure, mainly storage in an area that goes from freezing to thaw multiple times.

I work in distribution and sell some Marineland tanks. On the high side some models have a failure rate of about 2%, The 220's had the highest rate.

We just hear about the failures more often. There isnt anyone stating a thread about "my marineland 93 cube is fine"

I figured the rate would be very low. Tbh, I got the tank because it was cheap. I wouldn't be too upset if something did happen to it, (knock on wood). But it looks great, and that's the other reason I got it.

Yea you think after all these years they would have fixed the issues with the 93..
I was out a tank and stand...

Did yours have bubbles in the seam?

I put water in mine and saw the bubbles in the seam and took it right down...

Was a huge problem with allot of the 93 gallon cubes.

Mine was not warrantied because it was drilled.

Yeah from what I know they recalled a bunch.
Their warranty is iffy, from what I understand it’s only valid if the tank is on a marine land stand and everything. Hope you get it fixed

With the money I saved buying this tank, I was able to buy another regular 75 from them, that's waiting to be built. If anything fails I have a backup
