Hello:

I have read in several forums that marinepure leach Al to reefs. With Triton test before and after. So no question about it. (what type of Al is one doubt, ions?).

Anyone here have had issues with MarinePure?...I have read some of you has remove blocks of MP as a prevention since the Al levels where high (in yellow) acording to triton tests. But anyone has remove the blocks because has actually seen problems with corals, and after removal got better? or is just prevention?

I don't think the conclusion you reach has been established with certainty. My aluminum levels increased when I removed one of two marine pure blocks. I tested again five months later, with one block still in the system and my aluminum levels are now lower than either earlier test, but still slightly elevated. While the marine pure block could be the cause, with so many other inputs, I cannot conclude that with certainty. My corals are doing great with good growth and polyp extension on all of them including leather coral, so whatever the form of Aluminum, it doesn't seem to be hurting anything. My only issue is with some LPS but I attribute that to very low nitrate and phosphate levels, which I suspect is due in some part to the marine pure block. I have considered replacing the marine pure block with Spiroax to see if the aluminum is reduced further but things are going so well I'm hesitant to make any changes

Thanks edosan, I've read/been involved in those threads. In don't think the evidence is there yet to reach any conclusions. Those who want to take no risks will likely avoid Marine Pure, despite the (likely) benefits. Are you using any nitrate reducing media in your system such as Spiroax? I know many Brazilian and perhaps other South American reefers use Spiroax.

Most everyone is going by triton testing and triton doesnt differentiate between toxic aluminum and non toxic aluminum i had contacted the maker directly an am satisfied with their answers and am running it in my sump also i am running gfo to so far my corals are responding very nicely in fact some that were having issues before in my other tanks are coming back better than before dont know if the marine pure has anything to do with it or not

Thank u all for sharing.
I read all the posts and the conclusion is that actually no one show that what exacly is leaching (toxic or non toxic) and if that really harm corals. Only Triton numbers.
I have a frag tank that I want to put some marinepure only insted of liverock, and I was wondering if it would be a good idea. I will do it, already order some MarinePure.

I have the same issue with bright well biological brick
