Marinepure Block or Sphere?

Setting up a new 25g and want a minimalist aquascape but don't have a sump.

Would a block of marinepure look better in the display tank or a bunch of marinepure spheres spread out in the back?

Some people are laying the 8x8x1 plate and covering with sand. I would favor that over the detritus that might accumulate with the spheres.
