This sounds wierd and may be I'm crazy. But, during the last group buy from Live Aquaria, I got a White Cheek Tang. The fish seems healthy, gaining weight, and eating like a pig. A couple of nights ago, I noticed a circular mark about the size of a pencil eraser on the right side. There seems to be another mark inside this circle. It is faint but very noticeable when the fish is at certain angles. I thought it might be some sort of parasite or wound but upon further observation, it appears to be man made as it is too much of a perfect circle to be natural. Has anyone ever heard of a fish with an identifying mark, like a trademark?

Am I completely goofy or would there be a natural source for this sort of mark?

Puzzled!

Yep, its a bite from the Blennie. Now the tang has a fresh matching mark on the opposite side. I wouldn't have believed his mouth could get that big but I just happened to see it when it happened. Doesn't seem to bother the tang. But, I will watch it to make sure it doesn't get infected. I don't want to move the blennie but I may have to.

Mystery solved.

What do you tell a Tang with two black eyes?

Nothing, you already told it twice.

The ADHD tang just minds his own business swimming around constantly but I could see how that might be a little irritating to a grumpy old blennie who just sits on a rock all day.
