Marks on Hippo tang

Hello, I’ve had this hippo tang for years. She’s about 4”, big and fat. Eats everything. I recently discovered some marks on her body near the tail. (Scuff marks below the yellow tail.

Any advice is appreciated.

Hippos are notorious for scraping themselves up in rock work. How long have the scuff marks been there? I don’t necessarily see anything in the pics that concerns me.
I have to ask though any new additions?

Thanks for the feedback. No new fishes were introduced. The scruff marks are fairly new which puzzles me.

How did You get the fish to slow down enough for those great shots ? Ok back to your question I would think the fish is fine. We all know how skitzo these fish are. Could even be natural coloration. Let's wait to hear from the experts say !

If it is a scuff, then it will heal. Don't sweat it.

Hippos can get discolored as they grow and they need a bunch of high quality meaty and weedy foods. Vitamin A and E will help them keep their brilliant blue and keep HLLE away. If you are feeding a nice and varied diet, then don't worry about this at all.

I agree with waiting it out, it’ll probably heal well. Lots of high quality foods will help. Soak foods in Zoe, selcon, or vita chem for additional nutrition
