I noticed these marks on our Tangs tail this morning. Could it be a sting from the BTA or Aiptasia? An injury? Or disease? They're acting normally and eating well. Thank you

Stinging from a coral seems unlikely because the marks are on both sides of the body and pretty consistently distributed.
These marks are level with the skin, which makes me think it's not fungal but possibly bacterial as they share the same pattern on both sides.
I would look at water quality (parameters) and diet.
What is your:
Ammonia
Nitrate
Ph
Temperature
Salinity

treatment would be Maracyn 2 but tang appears healthy and I wouldn’t jump to treatment yet. Keep an eye on it. Diet plays a role with tangs.
Feed at minimum:
Nori seaweed basted with garlic extract
Spirulina brine shrimp
LRS herbivore diet
Mysis shrimp
Small plankton
Formula 2 flake and frozen
Hikari veggie diet

Add selcon vitamins and garlic extract to the foods for stamina and immunity health
