Maroon and Gold with Maroon Lightning clown compatibility

I've had my maroon and gold clown fish for a few years now, and a friend of mine had her for a few years before me. When I saw Maroon Lightning clowns become available I was intrigued because I thought they might make a good pair. My M&G is pretty aggressive, but has decided the little, regular clown in my 140g DT is not a threat, and has let him live, as long as he stays in his torch.
Now my LFS has a Lightning Maroon for sale, and will give me a discount because I give her Coral that has outgrown my tank.
Do you think the M&G and Lightning would be compatible? Do you think the M&G would be more or less aggressive if she had a mate? How aggressive are Lightning Maroons?
I could always move the regular clown to my frag tank without much issue, just hate to take him from his torch. I could frag the torch.

I wouldn’t even consider it unless you pulled the M&G, rescaped the tank, added some nems and then let the Lightning get comfortable in a nem before reintroducing the M&G.

And in regards to aggressiveness. They don’t become LESS aggressive until they die.

Lightning is still basically a maroon, so can be a mate to your gsm, if the new lightning is still small enough to be a male, and if your existing female accepts it, they don't always.
Intro in a specimen container or acclimation box to be safe, observe female, you can usually tell if curious or wants to kill it.
However if she does accept it, I'd suspect her to become more territorial, and your other clown would probably have to be relocated.

I could put the m&g in the frag tank while the lightning settled into the DT. You should see this lightning, beauty!

Well, I had the LM in a socialization cube for 24 hours and the MG didn't seem bothered, so I let the LM out that night. He was good when I checked on him the next morning before I left for work, but the MG beat him up pretty bad during the day. I feel so bad for the guy. I removed the MG to the frag tank, but a day later the LM is looking worse. I need to set up a hospital tank. Should I get the $14 10g tank from Walmart, or find a 5g somewhere? I have a good sized hob power filter I can use, brand new. What else do I need? I've also got pvc and my LFS has some meds and I've got more coming from eBay. I plan on using furan 2, metro, and kanaplex.
