So my female maroon killed a a dwarf lionfish as some of you saw in one of my previous posts. She's mean.. I think I made a big mistake of being the first fish in the tank. (my tank is around 6-7 months old). So she thinks the entire thing (75g) is all hers :/
So I went and found a smaller maroon. She chased and chased him. Nipped one of his fins. Nothing too terrible. I put him in my sump for now and I plan to try again in a few days. If she still gives him hell, do you all think it's safe to say she won't except any tank mates? Or what tank mates would be okay that she won't attack?

Try adding him at the same time as placing a mirror next to the tank.

You can also try putting him in a breeder box for a few days.

Ideally if you could catch her, her in the breeder box and him roaming would be ideal.

The other thing you could try is rearrange a few things in the tank as you add him to throw her off a little.

Welcome to the world of Maroon clowns....they're brutal at times, but so striking.
