Let us know when you upsize to the 30g, please. More advice would ensue with no doubt. :)

My post says I currently have a goby in the ten gallon. I never said I was going to keep a maroon in there .

The title of the thread says Maroon Clownfish tankmates. Additionally in your first post you only mention a 10g tank.

A good tankmate for a watchman goby in a 10g would include: clown goby, yellow assessor, or a firefish.

Barracuda or great white shark would be a good tank mate . Seriously they are mean as crap . So bad I had one and it would bite the crap out of me every time I cleaned the tank. These guys can even draw blood.. anyways if you want one a 30 would be kinda small bc the moroon clown is the largest clown. That guy will rule the tank so I don’t really have any ideas on a good tank mate. Maybe a basslet of some sort... something mean, fast , and likes to be in the rockwork away from the clown..

Thank you , I will look into basslets or might not get a maroon and get something else for the 30

That is my first post, again I’m not looking for tank mates for the 10 gallon . I’m looking for tank mates for the 30 gallon .

I had a small maroon in my 29g bio cube for quite awhile. He wasn’t as aggressive towards fish as towards my hand. He lived peacefully with fire fish, royal gramma, diamond goby, and banghai cardinal. Mixed reef. Dustin

So yes or no for the maroon

Thank you , do you recommend anything
Yellow assessor, stigmatura blenny, firefish, swales basslet, pike blenny.

Maroon clowns live well over 20yrs. How close to 20yrs was "quite awhile?"

No.

For a few years before moving into bow front. I think a 30g is sufficient for a small maroon not a 6” full grown. Dustin

It shouldn't take longer than 2yrs for it to become a full grown adult. If it does something stunted it's growth. A small maroon should relatively quickly become a full grown adult. 30g is not adequate.

I know this is old, but your response annoyed me. His first post DID mention the 30. He said he was upgrading from the 10. *sigh
