Maroon Lagoon V3.0

Well lesson learned. If you’re going to isolate a frag tank and treat it for bryopsis and GHA, be sure you have an air stone in there in case your gyres decide to stop working in the middle of the night and the tank becomes anaerobic from the die off of algae and no water movement

I forgot to post that I had a decent Acropora spawning event this month. On May 16th my colony of Pink Floyd spawned along with several other species. No successful fertilizations though, I need to stock more corals of the same species.

That's awesome! Are you doing anything special to provoke it (moonlight, changing photoperiod, etc.)?

Another Acropora spawning event last night. 1 month after the last spawning. I doubt anything will fertilize since the four colonies that spawned don't appear to be the same species. Still, it's a successful step forward. The baby Euhpyllia that spawned last year are doing well too.

Those are probably the nicest spawning photos I've seen beautiful work capturing it!

Oh I meant from the colors you have or have had, if you could only pick one, which is your favorite
Lol I figured that’s what you were asking and I tried to avoid it. That’s like asking who your favorite child is!

I like the red because it’s so bright and rare. But blue in corals always captures my heart, so I don’t really know. I’ll have to say red though since it’s a unicorn.

Good to know, really want to add a carpet Nem into my next tank and I’m leaning towards the Gig’s, I heard they’re less prone to “fish eating”?

Do you think I could put a red and a blue right next to each other? Do they move around on your or fight each other?

My red and blue are right next to each other. No problems. They’ve never eaten a fish that wasn’t already dying and floated into one.

Best of luck finding a red. There are plenty of red haddonis, but the red gig I have is the only one in the hobby I am aware of.
