Looking for a light for a new refugium in my sump.
I've used 150w HPS light in the past with awesome results but looking for something cooler running and full spectrum for good macro growth across the board.
These (and similar lights) get good reviews from the plant growers but curious about how they'd work over our refugiums.

Anyone have experience with something like this?

I just picked up a similar one recommended by someone in our local club.

I was looking into getting the HPS you run over your macro, but stumbled over a thread in our local forum.
I believe he also has the same one as you linked to. He is really happy with it. With them both.
I just received mine yesterday, hung it up this morning. Seems like it is pretty bright. First experience with LED's, so I don't have much to compare it to.
My light definitely has more white in it than the posted pics on Amazon show. I like the look of it. Hopefully the cheato will like it too.
It's been running for a few hours now. The cheato is covered with bubbles. I mean covered. I guess oxygen being produced?
Here's a link to the thread (if it's allowed. If not allowed, mods please delete.)
You probably will recognize the imbedded video in the thread.;)

What are the dimensions of your section your tryint to illuminate?
Kessils maybe way too small but man those horticulture lights are extremely good at growing macros.

I believe this is the area... (Behind the Cheato Curtain.)

LOL, similar size but this is a new setup. Typical fuge in sump under stand. Around 20x17 or so. Hasn't been finalized yet.

But kessils cost too much.

Yeah, I was talking to Damon over there. He's the one who turned me on to the HPS.
Now he has this Mars light and the Vipar you linked to. He says either works great. He has the Mars over his cheato and the Vipar over tomato plants. So he says. ;)
Supposedly the mars is blowing away the HPS.

Let me know if you use them and how they work. I have spiral bulbs at 6700K but haveing a hard time with the fuge. It grows some serious cayno but chetaio is just withering away. Mines is a 40 breeder thats pretty much all refugium as my skimmer is external just a small baffle for the return pump

Will do.
And that doesn't surprise me.
Those little spiral bulbs are like bringing a slingshot on a big game safari. ;)

Yeah I guess I just dont get it I had a 55 gallon fuge setup exactly like this one and lit the same way and the chetaio just went crazy but now its just killing me is a new setup though. Leds would be nice to have down there though

I'm using a Kessil for my fuge and I love it. Cabinet doesn't get warm at all.

Which Kessil are you using? I saw that they will be releasing a H80 in April which I'm considering for my sump which doesn't have a massive fuge section
