Ahhh What the heck, I just ordered two 165's
Will take my T5 off line for a while giving it a shot, not much to lose at $179 for the two units, I'm hearing a lot of good reviews.

I report my findings

Subbed. Would like to see the results of these lights.

It's time for a t5 bulb swap ( getting Old at 120.00)
Figured why not. I saw some pretty impressive member pics of their reefs using the 165's

I've subscribed too. I've been looking at these recently and they seems to get great reviews. Look forward to seeing how you get on with them.

I'll have them this upcoming Friday or Monday (hopefully Friday so I can mess with them over the weekend.

I'll keep you posted.

Looks like I get them Friday, I'll post pics and my thoughts on them.

I have one of the 300w units, and although the blues produced aren't as deep and rich (more of a "windex" tone) as I'd dream of, and the dimmer has to be turned by hand and doesn't come up in the morning like a natural sunrise, the light does keep corals alive - and for the price, I can't justify an upgrade. Probably going to scoop up a second unit for the in-process tank upgrade.

Yeah, a timer/auto dimmer would have been nice but for 89.00 each, I'll turn the thing on myself

You can always mod these, in switching out the blues for different leds. lot of people end of removing the reds and green .

They look really smart! How big is your tank? I have a 450l bowfront that is 5 feet in length, do you think I'd need three of these?

My tank is a 72 gallon bow. 48"

3 might be better for you but I'm not sure how these perform growth wise yet.

In that first picture how high did you have them cranked too? 50% [emoji817] %??

I have a long one with three fans [emoji817] leds 3watts per, it doesn't cover my hole tank like I'd like it it's about 4'8 long with 3feet deep think two will cover my set up?

My tank is also 48* long and the two smaller units are doing well so I can't see why two of the longer units wouldn't work for you. if you raise the 1 unit you have, you still can't get the coverage?
