My lfs have bring in some helfrichi firefish. They look pretty healthy. I've never kept helfrichi before so information is helpful.

Wow, looks cool. What size tank, and what other fish are already in there?

The tank is a5x2x2.5. In there are a coral beauty, some anthias, a pair of shrimp goby and two fairy wrasse. Planning to add some more wrasse and a Red Sea regal in the next batch. The tank is over a year and a half old(may have to catch the coral beauty out)

It’s an interesting looking fish; I’d be tempted to try it. But I would probably use an acclimation box for about a week to look for any signs that current inhabitants ‘aren’t having it.’ Lol. Obviously with typical rock work, I could see it being a Royal-pain to remove it if the experiment goes wrong. Keep us posted!

Main thing is they are jumpers and easily spooked and bullied.

I lost mine when power went out and it dove right into my bubble tip.

I'm scared of anemone now. After a carpet DEVOURS my magnificent foxface i'm not keeping one in a small fish tank

These guys are essentially the same as their relatives just a deeper water species. I love them but I don’t really want to risk one with the chance of a power cut at the moment (Storms have been hitting the UK like mad recently and the south has really been hit hard IME).

Well those sold out immediately so i may have to wait !

Update. Forget the thread for a moment now but I’m back. I got a pair of them a few month late bcs they weren’t in stock. In an acclimation box for a while and released last night. Hiding

I’d love to see pics when they come out! Haven’t seen these in a while but they’re a really beautiful fish. I’ve wanted a helfrichs for a few years but I don’t have a lid on my tank
