I setup my first QT last week, and the first fish I've ever added to it seems to have a cloudy eye.

The plan is to QT her for 8 weeks before putting her in the display, but she got cloudy eye after about 2 weeks.

Since this is my first QT, and I just set it up prior to picking her up, I only have furan-2 on hand and my LFS doesn't care anything else but coppery.

Luckily I noticed when it just started to happen, it was barely noticeable. Over the past couple days it has gotten considerably worse. Currently on day 3 of the Furan-2 only treatment.

This is my first fish I've had to treat, so its kind of intimidating using all these different treatments. Just want to make sure I'm not doing anything wrong.

From what I've read, the best course of action is combining Kanaplex, Furan 2 and Metroplex, which I will be ordering today.

Furan 2 makes her loose her appetite. She wouldn't eat anything last night (great eater prior to treatment). How long should she go without eating before I be
come more concerned?

What other treatments are must-haves? I'd rather be prepared and have a good spectrum of treatments on hand rather than reacting when a fish gets sick.

It's not a great photo, she was moving too much, but you get the idea.

The eye can also be irritated by ick.
Not always you see the ick on the fish.
I had the same happen to a flame wrasse, eye was about to fall off but I let it go as he was eating but could find his food only with one eye.
Result...... eyexwent better and now he's finding his food with his eagle eyes.

For popeye you can use Epsom salt at 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons to help relieve the swelling.

The trio of antibiotics you ordered are great to have on hand.

It is important to find the underlying cause. Do you see any signs of flukes within the fishes eyes?

I don't see anything other than the cloudiness. I run UV on the display, which is what I initially used to fill the QT. Since adding the UV, I've never had problems with ich (but that doesn't mean it could be the cause in this case, but I don't think it is).

No fish in my display have had any problems other than general bullying from other fish which result in a scrape here or there.

I just got this fish from the LFS about 16 days ago -- it went straight into QT and hasn't been introduced into the display.

I'll add epsom salt tonight to help relieve the swelling. Thanks!

A flatworm over the eyeball can look like cloudiness.....maybe try a freshwater dip?

I was just reading about the freshwater dip, actually. I noticed tonight that she's starting to flash on the pvc in the QT, so now I'm wondering if it could be flukes and I just can't see them. A freshwater dip would confirm whether or not that's the problem. I'm also going to dose prazipro just in case (it will be here tuesday along with the others), it looks like it can used in parallel with the three bacterial treatments above.

Either way, I'm so glad I decided to start my QT with her.

Make sure you have plenty of air exchange! These meds can consume the O2 in a tank fairly quickly when used together.

Glad to report my swallowtail angel seems to have recovered. It did take a couple of weeks.

I think I might begin acclimating her to the display today. I have a couple wrasses I'm expecting in the next week or two and need to prepare the QT for them.
