Hello all.... I have a very interesting situation I am trying to figure out. I have had my 55gal saltwater aquarium for 1 year. I have had my share of different fish in there and after one year, the only 2 fish that are still alive are my 2 clowns (and also my long tentacle anemone). I took my water again to the local store here and they confirmed all my readings and declared the water basically perfect. The gentleman there said, its very possible the clowns have become aggressive. I was under the belief, you couldn't get a more community salt fish than a clown. Has anyone had any issue where the clowns killed other fish? and I mean bigger fish. The last "victim" was a green mandarin.... the only other thing maybe it could be, I have a cat that loves jumping in front of the aquarium... could that shock the fish to death? I wouldn't think so because that is no different than me walking in front of it....

please someone help :)

thanks
Kelly

They are ‘generally’ nice but you can never tell with individual fish, you always get the exceptions

Mine are generally nice in both systems, but in the past if I’ve put my hand in my S650 they have attacked it so..... I keep my hands out unless necessary!

I have a clown that will not let another fish live in a 40 gallon tank. I have had her for a few years so she gets what she wants. I have two others in another tank that are quite timid. Fish have personalities too.

Pssshhh, had 2 1inch clowns bully a 2inch angel to death, then bully 2 cardinals to death... sometimes it’s just their tank you know?
