Hi I seem to have developed lots and lots of amphipods and there a at least 100+ various sizes. I need a reef safe predator that is ok with corals , 1 regal tang, 2 clownfish and a cleaner shrimp. 57ltr tank. Any help is appreciated

Have you considered a goby? There’s several different kinds and it sounds like they’d be in heaven in your tank. Only issue is, they may annihilate your pods and you may need to seed later on.

I’ve no concerns about pods but these little critters are taking over. Just looking to get it under control with something to coincide with current inhabitants

Do you have any pictures of them?

A Mandarin would help. People struggle to keep them cause they only eat those tiny critters. I keep a mandarin and a diamond goby and they keep the numbers pretty down. I seed every 6 weeks just in case though. I don’t want them to starve.

or a six-line wrasse
Only issue with those is they will be aggressive to new fish. I would only add one if you know that’s the last fish you’re adding. Funny that such a tiny fish can be so mean.

I have a Yellow Coris wrasse that does well with a mixed population.
Doesn't chase anyone and is great looking.
Oh, I also have a Mandarin and was seeding like Bleigh but one day noticed my Mandarin slurp up a mysis. Now he jumps in with everyone else when I feed.
He still stares for a few seconds like Mandarins do before eating the mysis and sometimes someone else steals it while he is inspecting the food lol.

Yea they can be. But keep it fed they can be a good community fish. (re: 6 line)
Mines a jerk u less I keep the fish in an acclimation box for a few hours first and I add more than one fish for him to spread his frustration on. When I get my frag tank set up, he’s going on there to be the permanent solitary resident - if I can catch him.

I’ll take some pics later once lights go out, they cone out then

I actually caught my six line last week in my acclimation box! It took a few days, but I finally managed to trap him. He's back at the LFS now because he was a holy terror!

Blimey, they sound like trouble! Lol
I’m looking into a mandarin tomorrow, see how we go perhaps

Do some research on them. There’s different colorations and that can be a showcase fish. I’d look into some other goby and wrasse types also. Both have some incredibly colored and varied species that will happily eat your pods.

Definitely a mandarin!!! They are gorgeous! and only feed on pods

I heard that mandarins feed only on copepods and not amphipods. Does anyone have experience with this? I have lots of amphipods and want a mandarin. I don't see many copepods in my tank though.
