Help! Am I am on vacation and this happens day 2.

I got two new anemones and my handyman dropped them in on Thursday around noon then turned off the power heads. Return pump still on.
Ph is fine until the next day and at 3:00 something happened that dropped my ph from 7.9 down to 6.35 in about five hours.
Skimmer is still on. This is a 300 gallon system so no idea what could be happening.
had handyman go by and everything looked to be doing fine.
Any ideas?

So I shouldn’t worry?

only thing I can think of is that the tube feeding air from outside to the skimmer got plugged up by a bug or something

thanks a million randy. Everything looks normal. It usually is 7.8 during day and 8 at night. So a drop like this makes no sense.
I have a ph meter coming from Amazon today so will post again if the numbers match.

Sounds good.

Happy reefing. :)

I had my ph drop suddenly once. Recalibrated the Apex probe and all good. Now I always keep calibration packets on hand and recalibrate quarterly. Good luck
