Massive Vermetid snail?

But if you crack the shell and smear the worm to pieces? Or is it like a aiptasia that it can regrow from almost nothing?
Break them in 3 and you have 4 more as an example. Best to remove entire worm and tube

Can I ask if you think this is a Vermetid snail? Thanks!!

I just found one of these enormous ones coiled around the back of a hammer

I would have never known if I didn’t notice it shriveling up

I’ve found a couple small ones here or there and snapped them off with these curved nail clippers but this thing was enormous

I forgot to take a picture but I destroyed every tiny shred of its existence out of the water and sprayed it with peroxide before rinsing off and putting back in the tank

What a nasty creature

Do bumblebee snails really work? Is it a numbers game with them? My 120 gal tank has a bad problem with vermitid snails, so far I’ve added ten bumblebee snails to see if I can notice them eating the snails but can’t say I’ve seen it yet, how many snails would I need to get the vermitid population under control?

my 2 bumblebees i see go for vermetid snails every now and then but they dont actively hunt them as much as i would want them too, i saw 1 crawl on the lobo where the big vermetids are but im unsure if the snail can even eat those big ones.
