So who makes a really good master test kit or am I going to end up buying a lot of single kits?? I'm aware there are some specialty test kits, but what I'm looking for is a comprehensive master kit if available. Any advice would be appreciated. [emoji3]

Master kits are not generally optimal, IMO. They include kits you do not really needed (nitrite, for example) and some that are not the best way to go (pH).

I'd look to get an alkalinity kit first, and a calcium kit second, unless you are cycling a tank, in which case ammonia first. :)

I also use the redsea stuff. I bought the alk,mg,Calc kit and also just bought the potassium, iron, and iodine kit.

Well first I'd like to say thanks to all for the quick responses. Yes I will be cycling my old tank slash new setup. I should have been a little more direct with my question.

Who makes great test kits these days? I've used seachem in the past but I had a few minor issues with them.

So who would you recommend for ammonia?

Alkalinity kit?

Calcium kit?

Mag kit?

I know this is a subjective subject somewhat, but I'd rather buy the right things the first time lol. We've all been down that road I'm sure. [emoji16]

Get the alk Calc and mag kit from redsea lots of people use it. It's also not comparing colors to see levels, it's a titration system.
