Masterflex pump for a calcium reactor

As a yet to be released alternative, I spoke with Serdar Ercan of GEO’s Reef at RAP-NY and MACNA-NOLA, and he’s working on developing a CaRx feed pump in conjunction with Spectrapure that will hopefully be released by the holidays.
Nice, did he say if it will be rated for continuous use like a masterflex/Watson marlow?

I’m guessing it’ll be very similar to the spectrapure ato pump that looks like a liter meter and will have an adjustability in pulse but not an exact rpm or ml/min like the masterflex

At RaAP he did mention that it was supposedly continuous duty. @swk, that’s what I’m guessing too, that it will be a variation of their ATO pump. At the end of the day, no hobby grade pump, continuous duty or not, will compare to an industrial lab grade pump, like a Watson Marlow or a Masterflex.

If it’s not the exact same pump lol. I believe a few folks have been using the ato pump as a calrx feed pump for some time now. After using a properly geared, brushless masterflex, it’s hard to imagine using anything else.

Yeah, I know Soulpatch over on RC has used it for the last 8 months with success. However, it has plastic rollers the need to be replaced every 6 months.

Yeah that was my concern as well. I'm no expert so was hoping someone more knowledgeable would put me at ease cuz it looks awesome.

Any clue what it means when the motor makes a loud clock ticking sound when running now? Like a worn bushing in the head?
