Mastertronic users thread

I found out why mine was coming back zero, when I would calibrate it I didn’t know you have to fill up the reaction chamber with rodi water. It’s weird that you have to fill it by hand. Put 10 ml of water into reaction chamber and then hit calibrate. After empty the chamber and then hit test oli.

Did that solved the scheduled OLI test afterwards too? Thanks.

I followed the calibration procedures correctly but are still getting zeros.

So it seems the issue was a leak sensor. Worked it through with Eric from their support.
He was very helpfull, but it took quite some foto's until he believed me when I said there was NO leakage. It's now disconnected. They asked me to clean it with some alcohol and then test again, but that's a job for next weekend.
Still don't know why the app won't resolve anything but at least it's testing now.

The app experience is still a bit sluggish and wonky. Don't for example try to do something else and switch away from the app. You'll have to start over again.
I calibrated by waterweight for example but that needs a calculation and then you need a second phone/tablet/laptop to do it because you cannot switch apps or let the screen lock come on.

I still also don't know how to hard reset the device. For some reason they don't wanna tell or the request keeps getting lost.

But boy when this device works, it it nice! You just plonk yourself on the couch, enjoy your thank and let your results come in.
Next step will be loading in al my parameters, testing it and sending in an ICP from the same time.
I've seen this on here many times but no one ever seems to give an answer.
How do you reset the Mastertronic? I can get it on my wifi but it will not show up in the app.

I just got a used Mastertronic and I am having similar issues as I see here where I can't see the device in my app. I did find out I needed the previous owner to unlink the device in his app, but that didn't seem to help. I tried changing my SSID to redo the whole process and no luck is there some little thing I'm missing?

OK this is bazar. So I started the setup over. The instructions tell you to close the app after you setup the SSID and password. So I decided to leave the app running the whole time and I left it on the SSID screen. After the Mastertronic came up I did a back arrow on my android and all of a sudden the device showed up this time. There instructions aren't correct if that is what made it work.

I assume that Focustronic doesn't have a documented software API to interface to their system? Doesn't hurt to ask though. Mainly so I can control my dosers but they probably want you to buy theirs.

Interesting problem I cant solve.
I have a MT, Alkatronic and a Dosetronic. All were working perfectly.
I was able to run a DKH test on my Alkatronic and Mastertronic and they would come back with Alkatronic 8.76 and my Mastertronic 8.75. they were pretty much spot on for several tests. About a week later I noticed that the 2 were not even close, Alkatronic is reading 9.2 and the MT is reading 8.60. big swing.

I checked the calibration on my Alkatronic and MT. MT was calibrated but I found that my Alkatronic was only dosing aboujt 9.6ml of reagent. It would not calibrate. It kept dosing 9.6 after calibration and testing it. I ended up making a new SD card and calibrating it. It did calibrate correctly. Current readings are 9.2 so made-up new batch of reagent. Same results. 9.1 so not the problem

my LFS used their Hanna and it read 8.7dkh
My Hanna is reading 8.7
Mastertronic is reading 8.66
It would “appear” that my Alkatronic is still having an issue.

The other part of the story is that my MT seems to be reading NO3 and PO4 low as well. They are usually spot on with my hanna checkers.

New Needles were installed.
Calibration was double checked
All tubes were replaced in the MT a few weeks ago.

Granted that the Hanna checkers are not the most accurate, but they have always been within reason to the MT. Current NO3 with the Hanna is 7.0 the MT is reading 4.05. they are usually very close but not now.

Not sure if the ALkatronic or the Mastertronic is the issue or maybe both.

Has anyone figured out how to do a factory reset on these things? I can’t get mine to broadcast it’s WiFi

I've had something similar when I bought a used one and had trouble getting to see it. I had to change my SSID on my WiFi to get it start the WiFi setup again. It has to not find a connection basically. Then I programed it with that SSID then I had to switch it back to the old SSID again. I had to do it a number of times until magically it finally worked with the app. So good luck. I would also check out the forums on Facebook as well they could help further if its more complicated. Sometimes people have to re-flash the microSD in it. etc.

While I was thinking about it I should mention on Facebook a guy pointed me o his API routine that I was able to use. Just haven't' got around to actually implementing it all the way. I was planning on just calling his routine from my python script and they grab the info that I need from the output file.

Hello everyone, I have message on screen of Mastertronic for leak detected but there is no leak and sensor is dry, I will buy new sensor from BRS unless you guys know where to find elsewhere cheaper, do anyone have documentation on how to replace this sensor? Thank you, Rav
