Evening,

You can check for flukes and give it some temporary relief by giving it a fresh water dip for 5 minutes. We have instructions if needed. I am not a disease person so I cannot really ID anything else. we have some great folk that can help though.

Ditto: a FW dip can help diagnose flukes, and also provide some relief while the prazi takes time to work. Have you done them before? If not, let me know and I can run you through the process (and I think there is a sticky at the top of this section that describes it).

For the dip, you want to make a clean catch (no gravel or algae and gunk in the net). After the dip, let it settle and examine the bottom for flukes. Neobenedenia will look like fish scales that have turned white. Gyrodactylus flukes are much smaller - I usually need a microscope or at least a magnifying lens to see them.

Did the freshwater dip seems to get worse after more around the line of the upper fin and lower fins

Ok, so no flukes in the bottom of the dip bucket? Scratching still the same? It just doesn’t look like a protozoan infection, but you say the spots are changing location? It could be a hyper sensitive reaction to protozoans, some fish are prone to that- instead of discrete white ich spots, the fish develop big mucus areas around each spot.

I too thinking protozoan reaction. Vlamingi respond same way to protozoan infection
