I want to transfer a fish from my QT to my DT but my DT pH is at 8.4 and the QT is at 8.0. What would be the best way to bring up the pH in the QT? Large WC? Soda ash? Kalk? How much? The QT is a 20g. I can't find a calculator like the BRS calculators for Ca/Alk/Mg but for pH.

Or I suppose a lot of people would just drip acclimate? But even by drip I don't want to bring him up more than .2 pH in a 24 hour period.

Ph fluctuates so much during the day that a 8.4 to 8.0 isn't something I would be worried about honestly.

If anything add them a few hours after lights out when ph will be trending down in the display.

Sounds good to me. Why do I keep reading "no more than .2 pH change in 24 hours"? I also read several threads where people are saying they never bother to match pH without issue. Anyways, I did a 50% wc with DT water and I'll throw em in tomorrow evening.

I never understood the whole .2 thing either, our tanks swing more than that on a daily basis haha. What I do when I bring fish over from qt to display is make sure temps are close and salinity is spot on.
