Mated pair Banggai Cardinals

I'm looking for a pair of mated Banggai cardinals. I think these guys are a really under rated fish. The colors and marking are cool and the way that they eat it pretty funny to watch. If you know where I can get them please let me know. I'm located in the North East of USA if it makes a difference.

Best way to get a pair is talk to lfs about your plans. Buy 3 or 4 let them pair up and take the odd balls back.

I've been checking the LRS. They get them but I'm trying to get a group to see if any pair up and return what is left. They are not so willing

finally someone else enjoys cardinals. I have a pair if pajama for at least 8 years. I did not know they were m and f , I saw them with their eggs first time a few months back. The female does disappear a lot, so there may have been others. I just never put effort into breeding. I actually got mine from liveaquaria

So i have been wanting a pair as well. I dont even know if i can. It seems my blue chromis and ruby headed wrasse have got the tank at odds all the time. I wonder if they would leave the benggai alone or would they get picked on. A friend of mine has one he is just going to give me. ill have to look into how hard it is to pair them after one has been in an established tank.

With these fish the male carries the eggs in his mouth until about 20 days or so after birth. You can tell is he has eggs because he will not eat the whole time and his mouth area starts to extend.

i had one in my first reef years ago and at the time i thought it was kind of a boring fish but he grew on me and it took me until like a few months ago to learn that its fairly easy to pair them. To bad they start to kill off the 3rd wheel. They would be a perfect shoaling fish in a larger tank.

However it is really sad that they are only fou
nd one place in the world and we have nearly made them nearly extinct. they are now almost exclusively captive bred i still feel pretty guilty.
