I've had my true perc pair for almost a month and in the last week I've seen the female charge at the male frequently. He doesn't seem to have any scars/wounds so could it just be natural behavior as they start to mature? Today she was a bit more aggressive and locked down on his tail until he managed to shake her off. Occasionally the male will do the submissive jittering and she does it too but rarely. Water params are right when they need to be, could it be that I have them in a 14g? They never fight during feeding time and just race to the nearest shrimp/flake no bickering at all. Please share some insight!

are you sure your male was in fact a male and not another female? ive seen female x female shake in dominance

Have they been spawning in your tank?

Or when you purchased them were you told that they were spawning?

Did you see them spawning?

Its nature. Give them some time. Mine fought for a few months straight and are now doing great. The jittering you see is normal when they go through this stage.

As in nature, they may get over this or they may not.

Thanks guys. They haven't been sparring in the last couple of days but are not staying with each other usually on the opposite side of the tank. No spawning yet as they're both pretty small/undeveloped.
