Mateo’s Seapora 50 build

It’s that time again…. Testing time! I did a full 15g water change last night and I wanted to get full parameters documented for a 7 day test on my all for reef consumption. I have been having alkalinity consumed faster than calcium so I want to see exactly how much it’s dropping on my current dosing schedule. I should have a good idea by day 3 or 4.

Yesterday I went to the LFS to get a clown for the thunder dome and the manager gave me four more neon green capnella frags. Since I have a big one already I was hoping I could pass a couple of these along to fellow reefers in the area. First picture is my colony, second is the sweeeet little frags

Also, today was test day. I think I finally get my all stabalized. Had to bump up my daily All for reef dose to 14/ml a day.

Tonight I added a ecotech versa to the system for top off water. The plan is to get it dialed in to where I only have to manually add every once in a while. Eventually I want to use this setup for kalkwasser, but for now I’ll just get to know it for a little while and get used to how it works. I put a 1/4” Murdock bulkhead in the screw on lid of a 5g hedpak jug with a piece of rigid acrylic tubing that I can easily swap from jug to jug as needed.

My capnella decided to throw a “bud” off today. I found this weird looking ball floating around. Luckily I caught it and put it in the bin with the rest of the capnella babies. You can see the stump where it budded from.

And my top off jug hooked up to a versa. I’m planning on putting my all for reef in the closet on a versa as well. The kamoer f1 that’s already hooked up will be connected to a 1000ml bottle of acropower now. I’m going to give it a try instead of the brightwells coral amino that I have been using.

I also purchased this backup batter unit that also doubles as an emergency UPS with a 10 millisecond switch over time. With their calculations, it should run my 6.3 watt gen 3 korallia power head for 73 hours. I keep it set at a height in the tank that when the power goes out and the display drains down to the sump the korallia will randomly suck air therefor providing circulation And oxygenation. I got a steal on the ups unit, amazon has a $100 off Cupon going so it was $260.

June update! I have since added a second versa to dose my All for reef. I installed both pumps on the back side of my closet door which is right beside the tank.
I also have switched from bright well coral amino to acro power which I now have hooked up to the kamoer f1. I’m up to 18ml daily on the AFR and I’m dosing acropower 12 ml twice a week. So far things seem to be liking the stability the versas doing the topping off and AFR. Still undecided on the acropower, I have noticed a little better polyp extension and better color.

6-16 tank update! , Last week phosphates hit .15! I know most would enjoy that level but it was a tiny touch high for my liking and the tank wasn’t the most vibrant. So after added high capacity GFO from BRS to my carbon reactor at about a 10-15% ratio. After one week my parameters are as follows.

Tank update! I have moved a few things around and have begun running small amounts of the BRS high capacity GFO in my filter sock. I would like to keep my phosphates in check right where they are.
