Has anyone used MatterHackers build series petg for their aquarium? I have a few spools lying around and would like to use that instead of ordering an fda approved brand if possible.

I thought PETG was generally considered safe, but I don't recall ever hearing anything about any specific brands one way or the other.

I'm guessing this isn't going to apply to you since you mentioned FDA approved filament (I wasn't even aware such a thing existed), but many, many people have used PLA with no problems. I usually use it, if for no other reason, because it's already on the printer and the slicer settings are already correct for it (and, of course, it's generally easier to print).

Yea the consensus seems to be PETG is the most aquarium safe, and fda approved PETG is the safest. fda approved just means it has been tested to ensure it doesn’t leach chemicals among other things. But I figured lots of filaments may be safe. Just only some went to the trouble of paying to go through the fda approval process.

part of me wants to just use it, but it’s probably safer to spend the extra $35 instead of risking my livestock…
