I’m planning on rescaping my nano reef where I intend to replace all the rock. I received a bunch of beautiful mature live rock about 4 months ago and it’s been curing in heated saltwater ever since. Now my question is if I want to avoid any sort of a cycle when making the switch, should I start ghost feeding the rock for a while prior or do I just charge ahead? Thanks for your opinions!

Yes, you need to add some source of food to get the bacteria going again.

Or pure ammonia and dr tims

Most likely though it’s already cycling.

The ammonia would just be a booster.

If you mean avoid an ugly phase ? Just make sure the rock is not got a lot of detritus and funk on it.
You’ll get a bit of ugly from the sand.

I have used Dr. Tim's in the past. It worked well for me.

What are Your No3 & Po4 levels ? I'm curious as I have a barrel with mature rock curing with a lid to keep it dark . This barrel has been going for years.
I usually just swap one problem rock in the tank & replace with a similar size rock from the barrel . I don't have the heart to let this rock dry out.
I have a box of dry rock also !
