Does anyone feel like their reef is bulletproof once it has matured? Just want to talk about my experience, i had a 90 gallon tank which was running for about 1.5 years then i downsized to a 20 nuvo which has been running for about 1 year. Total age of water 2.5 years which is not a lot but still something when i’ve had sponges growing in the 90. When i started up the 20 it was straight coral, sps, lps and a few fish. I was on top of water changes, and dosing and keeping everything stable for 4 months. Then life got busy (have a business) and started neglecting the tank. During the past 8 months the tank has been fluctuating on salinity(manually topping it off) , using store bought water( bottled water) running no skimmer, no water change, no dosing , no mechanical filtration, just a return pump and a mp10 to keep stuff moving. The tank has been doing better than ever. Haven’t tested the water in months and don’t even know where the numbers are at all. I have a Green monti digita that is growing like crazy. Although i do have a issue with pulsing xenia taking over so it might have to do with most of the No3 and po4 export i’m assuming. But other than that just really surprised with how well everything is doing. Doing an upgrade soon and scared to touch anything at all due it being so stable.
