Hey all. Hope you are well. I have a max e260 with the rear sump. I tried searching and found lots of threads asking about skimmate. My issue is microbubbles coming from the skimmer and making their way into the display.

My tank has been running for a month today, full cycled I have 2 clowns, shrimp and Yasha goby pair and some CUC..

Even if I have the air completely closed I’m still getting microbubbles coming from the return into my display tank. If I open the air it’s like rapids and tons of air bubbles popping in the rear chamber but also still filling the display. I’ve tried everything and even removed the skimmer to make sure there was nothing lose or clogged.

I’m getting frustrated so I could use some help lol. Or suggestions on upgrades or other skimmers that fit and work. Thanks so much in advance!

Just to clarify, when there is no air going to skimmer, there are still some microbubbles?

Yes. I have the air intake turned off completely and there is still microbubbles coming out the return.

I had the same problem. I worked on it for a month. I contacted Red Sea support and after sending some pictures and videos, they sent me a new pump for the protein skimmer. After a day or two, the new pump did not produce any micro bubbles.

Thanks so much for the reply. I contacted them today. It’s funny tho.. the msk 900 isn’t even listed under skimmers lol.
