Max Nano skimmer bubbling constantly

Hello all, sorry for the newbie question, but this is my first tank. Just got setup yesterday and added more water to the sump this morning. Now the skimmer is bubbling and the overflow hasent filled up. Is this how its supposed to operate? Was I damaging the skimmer when I has it on but the water wasn't high enough for it to start bubbling?

Looks like it's operating fine (it may take a bit for foam to start collecting). It should be fine - just try to keep the water levels where they need to be (topping up your RO, etc.)
