Maxi Jet in a Nano Cub

So I have the 28 Gallon JBJ CF Quad Nano Cube. I purchased a maxi jet 1200 because I heard that was what a lot of people are using as an upgraded pump. My question is, for those of you using these in your nano cube, did you just replace one of the stock pumps with it or set it up on the inside with the suction cups as extra flow and leave for the stock pumps in?
I looked at the directions and saw there was like four different ways to set it up and was kind of stumped.

no you strip it down to the bare minimum add the pipe on an go. to put it in and take it out disconnect the top pipe from inlet in the back chamber.
itll blat the sand right out of the tank basically in the display. I used dual 1200's in back and a 420gph koralia in the display
