Woke up to my carpet in my powerhead… I rushed over to my tank to get it out. Will this cause a tank crash? I know nems can be quite potent

If its shredded , it can or may release toxins and elevate nitrates. If not, assure it does not fall apart and cause water quality issues.
Generally when anemone climbs in a tank, there is a lack of light, water flow or both. Assure to provide moderate to medium light and water flow. Too much and it will hide.

It was a new one, attaching itself overnight and I put a little guard around it but seems like it got blown away with it. It wasn’t completely shredded but I do notice my water is a bit cloudy.

Either way, nems decay super fast, was it all blobby and jelly like? Regardless of how bad, you need to do at least a 30% water change and run carbon for now, if you dont already.
