Used a maxijet 1200 before, see they are $30 dollars and amazon has similar pumps with better ratings. Water changes will be 3.5' from bucket to tank.

Anyone use a UNICEl or aquaneat?

Just so you know, Maxijet changed manufacturers maybe two years or so ago, and in my opinion, the new Maxijets are of a much lower quality. If you want the "original" Maxijets, that are workhorses and of high quality, you will want a Cobalt MJ1200. I can not comment on the other pumps you mentioned, but would recommend the Cobalt.

Also, not sure of the volume of water you are changing, but a Maxijet will be fairly slow.....maybe OK if five gallons or less. I change out 25 gallons every water change and use a MAG 7 or MAG 9.5
